Alex is trying to get out of the shadow of MM93 would he willingly step back into that shadow?
There will be comparisons to his brother whatever seat he takes in MotoGP.
Don't know if the Honda 'culture' would want 2 bros as riders.

Nakagami flew to Valencia for 3 days "to see what a MotoGP weekend was like from the outside".
He says he is 90% sure he'll still be at LCR next year.
Could have flown there to lobby Repsol for Lorenzos seat.

Bautistas name has come up too.
The Honda superbike team is to be based in Spain and Bautista will be a part time tester for Repsol Honda.

With so many options (AM73, Crutchlow, Nakagami, Zarco, Bautista) Honda probably haven't picked anyone yet.

Could be an answer on Tuesday when testing starts.

Good analysis @desmonator.

Everybody thought that Zarco is the natural pick, with the recent LCR move and favorable results. I am sure that he will make an extra effort tomorrow.

For Crutchlow it might be too late. Your entire list is capable and possible.

I guess we will have to wait and see.

Just read MotoMaters
Appears to be a very complicated process, some moves will have major flow ons to other areas.
One scenario is if AM73 goes to Repsol, Marc van der Straten who owns the Marc VDS team will walk away from Moto2.
Ezpeleta will hate to see that much money walk away.
Zarco has been getting advice from Ezpeleta.
Having Ezpeleta onside looks like he'll be in MotoGP next year, at worst he takes AM73 seat in the Marc VDS team.

Could be an announcement race day (Sunday).

Will MM93 lose focus on racing to help AM73?
If AM73 goes well and wins a few races how will the mood in the garage be?
AM73 takes out MM93 a few times:grin::grin::grin:

This could make 2020 more interesting than it was shaping up to be.
I think that both brothers racing for Repsol next year, will be very interesting, regardless.

honda is ready for all the whim of his champion to keep him after 2020
Honda definitely looking to keep Marc happy.

MM93 wanted Alex to go to a bike that is easier to ride than the Honda.
Marc wanted Alex to go to Petronas Yamaha, Yamaha said never going to happen.
Factories didn't want Alex reporting back to Marc.

All Moto2 champions have gone into MotoGP so Alex deserves a ride, looks like Repsol is the only team that would take him.

Definitely convoluted. It actually makes sense that other manufacturers will be cautious of having a Marquesz in any of their teams (Factory or satellite), with Marc fighting for the 2020 championship on a Honda.

BTW, Marc destroyed a 2020 bike yesterday and little bro destroyed a 2019. LOL...
