Hi guys. Has anyone experienced their free tech pack being deleted after some works carried out? I had my cracked clocks replaced (due to stress in plastic and Chinese parts) and the bike now has no tech pack which came as a deal when I bought it in June 2020 for 7,500.
dealer today has basically said it’s never had it. It took me to almost shouting at themfor them to say we’ll look into why it hasn’t. I’m not an idiot. It had track mode before. Now it doesn’t. Simple. Unfortunately the ktm salesman is away I’m hoping hebacks up that it was a deal in June 2020 as it doesn’t state it on the invoice or anywhere. Just about had it with smc to be honest. TIA

It’s a 790? If so there wasn’t an option for the tech pack as it was standard on the 790 so you should have I all on there.
That’s exactly what I thought but they have basically fobbed me off until I blew my top as I’ve waited 8 weeks for new clocks. I know what I had before I’ve used all the options and now there is no track mode. There is no anti wheelie. No launch control etc.
thanks for the reassurance mate.
stuart.

Has the mileage been carried over from the old clocks?

Remember that a new 790 is restricted until the first 1000Km (about 620-odd miles) have been covered. At that point the rev limit / track mode unlock automatically while you are riding - at least it did on mine.

That's when had the first break-in service done where they change the oil / filters and recalibrate the quick-shifter.

I bet the dash thinks the bike is brand new - maybe there is something the dealer can do with the KTM tablet plugged in.

Don't get mad at them - they seem to just not know.
hi mate.
it’s done 2300 miles or so. Yes mine unlocked after first service around 700 miles or so like yours.
you’re right though. I called them today and made amends and just said let me know when ktm have told you what the next stage was.
Ps. I took a street triple rd out today as I’ve lost confidence in the ktm with the crack screen and concerns over getting parts. Well…… it did nothing for me. I actually put a deposit weeks ago on the new rs colours. Cancelled it today. Rode mine home giggling all the way.
you just can’t beat the duke. I love it’s balls and ratty savage light front wheel craziness.
considering the 890r now. 😂😂🤣. Off topic sorry but wanted to mention it. Triples aren’t for me. No balls.
hopefully tomorrow I’ll get answers about mine and will let you know.

Just confirming what others stated. 790 came with everything standard. Track pack is add on for 890 bikes to get more $$. I ask dealer to print bike configuration BEFORE they do any work because too many have had issues. Same for 1290 GT, numerous owners having to fight dealer to re-enable crap after work done. GT has electronic suspension and when suspension software is upgraded it disables Quick shifter so you have to know this and check before you leave dealer to make sure qs working. PITA.

So…. Update:-

good news mr coopland. Your bike did have all the options as standard so we need your bike in for the day!!!! 😳. Ktm have to put them back on remotely so it’s not a wait job. When it’s convenientjust Drop it in. it’s not convenient is it 😂.
got to the bottom of it though. It was all done in the factory and they have to reinstate it remotely and not on their diagnostic machine (which broke the first time I took it in 😂).
I’ll let you know when it’s sorted and then I’m tempted to look into the 890r

lol WTF...pathetic dealer with zero knowledge of the most basic things. This is why I HATE taking my bike to dealers and chose to spend the money on proper equipment...wasn't cheap lol. I wish I had the factory diagnostic system like I do for my BMW, the third part system I have works ok though for the Duke.

If you saw what was required to enable this you would be pissed!
