Hi all. Been looking at the new KTM 790 Duke since it's inception. Love the very idea of this bike. Can't wait to have my own. My dealer won't have one until April/May so learning as much as I can in the meantime. My current bikes are a 2016 BMW R1200RS, a 1972 Honda Trail 90, and I drive the Top 1 Ack Attack streamliner. Looking to add orange to my wardrobe in the near future. Thanks for having me...

I think they have one in stock at a dealer in Petaluma. I got the first one here in Fresno 3 weeks ago, and they haven't gotten another one yet.

It is a special bike. I've had MANY, from Ducati 916, Aprilia Mille and Tuono, ZX-10, Daytona, ECT, ECT. The 790 is the most fun bike I've had, by a large margin. They just got everything right on this one
Welcome to the forum Rocky, glad to hear you've set your sights on the 790. The few models that have come in to various dealers, are gone almost immediately.

welcome to the forum
will this be your first KTM?
This will be my first KTM. I think the timing is right. KTM seems to be at the top of their game. Champions in the desert, Supercross, Pikes Peak, and I think with Zarco at the controls in MotoGP they will be successful there too. The 790 Duke just looks like so much fun, and that's exactly what I'm looking for!
Its going to sound biased but good choice with the 790. Not only are their bikes solid but the customer service that owners have seen in response to issues has been stellar. Welcome!

they are FUN

SO WHEN ARE YOU COLLECTING YOURS?
Unfortunately, not until April/May. That's when my dealer says he will have them. I have an R1200RS to keep me occupied until then but that's still a long wait...

Our dealership had like 12 on order and I think only got a handful in first shipment.
