I have seen power commander fitted to a few test bikes but it is not available to general market
again I have seen products from Austin Racing and a unit from Cooober in Germany.
there is also the booster plug fuel enriching adapter.
again feedback would be great

my only experience so far has been the booster plug +K&N filter

Im using a Boosterplug on my 790 and also my Tiger 800 XCx and im happy with it.

I also considered this RapidBike Easy Rapidbike Easy | DIMSPORT - ENGINE CALIBRATION SPECIALISTS but decided the Boosterplug is just so easy to use i stuck with that.

Today i removed my Boosterplug and took the bike for its first service. That Boosterplug definitely smooths out the snatchy throttle response at low revs in a very noticeable way.

I have found my bike to still be slightly snatchy after fitting booster plug think its just as this bike has virtually no crank mass

From what I've been reading there's a firmware update 0.17 -> 0.20 that may improve lower fuelling
Just read this blog about the firmware update.

https://www.marcmachtblau.de/2018/07/31/update-fahrzeug-firmware-auf-v-0-20-ktm-790-duke/

It is in German, but if you open in Google Chrome, it will sort of translate. (If anyone here can read German and confirm the translation it would be appreciated). But I think it indicates the rider felt smoother performance at lower rev range (improved fuelling )?
Sounds very promising, I shall ask my dealer if v2 has reached Australia yet.

Thanks, Zank

Not sure what country you are from but I just had my 1st service and 0.17 is definitely the latest Australian firmware.

I've done 1300 kms and the snatchy operation definitely gets better with more kms, the 790 has low crank mass and a very tight engine when new.

Unfortunately when a bike is new and has an irritating problem you can really focus on it, now that the booster plug is fitted you should just ride it and forget about any "slight" snatchiness and just enjoy the bike.

I'm in UK, no sign of it at my dealer yet either, but as per the link above definitely out in the wild, probably being rolled out in smaller batches across EU first.
dealer updated my software from 17 to 20 last Friday in UK

The report I read was a German translation. Any difference in performance for you?
hi
dealer told me the main fix was stopping the display resetting itself
I thought the bike ran slightly better at low rpm afterwards too

Spoke with my dealer, they have the coober installed. He told me the bike feels different and way better to ride. I am going to test it in next days.

He also told me, Booster plug is not going to work at all. The Bosch controller is not going to change anything if the AIR temp is lower or higher.
Hi Tango
that's interesting have uploaded the Dyno graph from coober and compared to others.
look forward to your feedback

Booster plug must be doing something as fuel consumption noticeably dropped but have no way to prove much else other than consumption
but the theory sounds easy the bosch unit changes fuel with outdoor temperature, this unit just make the bosch unit think the air is colder hence denser and therefore puts a bit more fuel in

what dealer told me is, that this use to work on old technology. on 790 KTM compare the Engine Temp vs Air Temp vs Temp from the exhaust sensor.
they hook up the live diagnostics and nothing changed not even the duty cycle of an injector, and this is the first thing that need to change with booster plug. Anyway i keep you up to date
that is interesting
as I said I have noticed approx. 3-4% drop in fuel economy on the same 3 hour ride
software is 1.00 now not noticed any differences
has anyone else

Is this on the dash?

I took mine into dealer on Friday and was expecting an update, however after plugging it in they said no update available, got the bike in June.

Apparently the dash version is specifically for the dash display and nothing to do with the ECU.

Seems like the hex file version defines the ECU version

this is software as shown on display so I have gone from 0.17 to 0.20 to 1.00

what your showing is the diagnostics machine at a dealer
I do not know if this can be interrogated another way as I have not seen a canbus connector but not really been looking for it either
