For those of you who are a little neglectful on regular inspections.... I was surprised to find my rear brake pad was down to metal at a little over 10,000km. I only use the rear in heavy traffic - seems the small disc and single pot chews pads pretty quick. Low fluid level in rear reservoir is a tell-tale sign.

I’ve had to have a new rear pad fitted to tide me over till a new rotor comes in.

Pic shows new pad and scored disc.

Tom - sorry to dig up an old post..

How does your rotor and pad look after replacement? Any new issues?

I'm noticing the same issue on my Duke. At 7000km the rear rotor is totally chewed up. I know for certain I don't ride with my foot dragging the brake so either the pad wears out unusually quickly or there is some issue with the rear brake binding.

LOL...

I actually use the rear on this bike more than I used the rear before, on sport bikes. Lots of fun on the track...
