Hi All I know there's a load of talent in this forum so I'll ask for if anyone can offer a suggestion as to what may going on =
I have an Escort radar detector hard wired to the bike with an Escort supplied direct wire cord. I also use and have for many years without issue the HARD System - for those that might not know its a "heads up" display sent to an eye piece in your helmet from a transmitter thats plugged into the detector and the wired cord is plugged into the transmitter.
I've used this system for years and it it has worked flawlessly and saved me scores of tickets.
So here's my dilemma. When I plug the Escort detector into the transmitter and the transmitter is plugged into the bikes wired cord there is no power delivered to either device. When I remove the transmitter from the equation the Escort detector is powered up properly, but no power obviously to the eye piece via the transmitter. - At first I figured there is an issue with the transmitter - no, not so simple -
To test everything I used the cigarette lighter plug Escort supplied, in my car, plugged into both the transmitter and detector and it worked fine. Meaning it sent a signal to the eye piece as its supposed to.
Anyone that might have a suggestion would be most appreciated - A final comment - I've used this set up on other bikes namely my 1290 Super Duke R and my 990 Super duke in years past and it worked flawlessly - I/m wondering if there could possibly some kind of electrical conflict with the 790 as I know things on this bike are operated through the ECU and on board computer. I know I/m grasping at straws. Thanks in advance - Any suggestions will be most appreciated.
