just wondering, has anybody fitted KTM Side bag set ( 64112931000 )? How practical is it? Worth ~700 EUR?

thanks & ride safe

I have not got the side bags but was considering them for touring but they are not cheap with the frame needed.
I did find some pictures of them fitted on another forum:

The last trip to Spain I only had a tail bag which was enough for the essentials as we were staying in small hotels and I may just use the same tail bag which is bagsconnection rearbag tailbag which is the exact same as the KTM tail bag without the badge or the inflated price, they are not cheap anyway without the KTM badged version.

@Bugz thanks for the pictures, that's exactly what I was looking for. They sure are pricey and bike looks quite wide with them. Also, aren't they obscuring owner's bottom mounted mirrors :-D
I was asking about those bags at the shop and they also suggested to use rearbag instead. I'll just leave them be for now as it's quite cold for long trips now anyways, let's see next year.

fun fact, powerparts rearbag is cheaper here than sw motech one :-D
Sadly dearer here in the UK, swmotech make a lot of KTM powerparts anyway and I buy from Germany direct sometimes as it’s cheaper than the robbing stealers (dealers).
I know I am resurrecting an old thread here.

BUT would anybody happen to have photos of JUST the frame fitted? - Esp' the Exhaust side and from rear.
KTM say it won't work with the Akra setup. So it may not work with other after market pipes!.

There is no way I'd splash out for the cases - but the frame is not STOOPID expensive here.
And my dealer gives his customers a healthy discount.

This is the closest I've got.

Excellent - Thanks. Glad I asked, as they won't do what I need. Grrrrr.

If you do find another rack set that works for you let me know. All I can find is the Motech left side carrier, very limited luggage options. I might just go with it since it seems to be the only option for more then just a tailbag, unless I want a tank bag but I can’t stand those.

Having looked at various options - any solution will almost certainly involve my neighbor and his Tig welding skills. I had to do the same with my Rocket-III.

If I was after more or less permanent storage - I'd have frames made that bring the cases forward as I will not be carrying a passenger.
But on the KTM I can live with a less permanent solution if I go ahead. Basically just some stable under frames for Moskomoto (or similar) stuff. I know MM offer a heatshield but I am fussy - and I mean FUSSY when it comes to engineering.

I hear ya, I have resigned myself to stacking my wolfmann duffel on or under my cortech tailbag I think. Then if that’s not enough I’ll go with the motech carrier, the lack of symmetry kind of fits the atheistic.

It’s frustrating, I really wanted to mount my wolfmann saddlebags.

I went with the SW Motech saddlebag, a cortech sport tailbag and a cargo net for anything else. I still have the wolfman duffel I can strap on if I need more baggage.

Interior measurements?

Does anyone know the interior size of the bags for 64112931000? I think one the bags is smaller than the other? Thanks!

Yeah, this is EXACTLY what I wanted to see. The side bags mounted with a tail rack. That will be plenty of luggage space for a little touring.
Thanks again for the pics.
