Does anyone know what would cause this kind of oil leak?

Hi ,me too, I am convinced, that almost everyone owning duke 790, 890 had this problem. When I uninstall valve cover on my moto, I was surprised what a small amount and not on whole moon surface has been used by KTM Assemblers...very SAD, so trivial exercise :( Fixed by new gasket (but gasket is not faulty) and and it is very important...more sealant, No more leaks any more :)

So you are lucky man, I know many people personally and here in forum, that have this same problem...Maybe KTM technology assembly factory setup has been inproved after four years :) GOOD :)
And another question for you...have you got some coolant leakage problems? Thanks for reply.

Yup, my ‘21 890 started leaking at the end of last summer in the same exact spot. Seems to be worse on hotter days or if I have to sit in traffic. Quick back road blitz’s and/or cooler temps it’s usually fine. Kind of annoying on a new bike but if you’ve got a warranty it’s covered I’m pretty sure.

Yep, have that leak for a while now. Just under 10k kms. Not sure if I want my dealer replacing it and still waiting for replacement thermostat/housing to turn up. Considering getting the gasket off them and doing it myself so I can check valve clearances at the same time and make sure gasket is fitted properly.
