Hi all, taking delivery tomorrow of my orange ( the fastest color) 790 from Big Sky Motorsports, Missoula MT.
I've owned a number of KTM's during the past few years, namely a 1290 Super Duke R which I just sold, a 990 Duke which was totaled when I had a fight with a deer.
I've owned a 690 Super Moto, 690 Duke with factory race cam, Akro pipe and K and N filter. A fun 390 Duke ( kinda like a big fella riding a shriners bicycle)an a 690 Enduro.
Never had a single thing go wrong on any of them. They are great bikes. I hope I'll enjoy the 790 as much as the 1290. I figured at 78 years of age it was time for a bit of a smaller easier to
ride bike that my beloved 1290 Super Duke R. I love that bike but figured the 790 might fill a bit better niche for me. Besides if I'm not happy with the 790 there are plenty of 1290's around.

I've ordered a Wings titanium slip on, Coober ECU kit, along with the passenger peg removal piece. Trinkets such as a tail tidy to eliminate that ugly license plate piece and of course
heated grips to keep my 78 year old arthritic fingers warm.

Appreciate suggestions and any owner tips from other owners.

I have moded my 790 extensively lots of details under mods thread

I have coober are you fitting yourself?
heated grips good decision

you might want consider the +20mm ergo seat
I found the standard mirrors give poor visibility so you might want to look at mirrors too

Different bikes, indeed. Hope you will not miss the SDR power too much. You will definitely enjoy the 790's responsiveness and lightness.

Welcome to the family!
