Hello all, from sunny (today anyway) Northamptonshire, England.

Just brought home a “standard” KTM 790 Duke, apart from Touring screen, heated grips, belly spoiler & crash bungs.

I have gone from 11 years on 2 Honda VFR750’s, 91 & 96 without even basic abs! To a machine that is a whole new world of electronics :surprise: (but I’m definitely not complaining).

Everything is staying “as is” for the moment while I update my brain to a modern mode of transport :nerd:

Spring has arrived just in time for me to revisit lots of old (& some new) twisty routes.

Hi there,
Nothing wrong with the old Honda VFR, I still have a ‘99 model 800Fi, but the 790 is definitely a modern motorcycle.
Get out there and enjoy it and readjust to twentyfirst century motorcycling, it will certainly put a smile on your face.
Welcome in. Pity we've lost the local track.
Welcome from an ex-Northants old codger (Wellingborough and Little Harrowden) . The 790 certainly puts a spring in your step and a grin on your face!
Thanks for the welcome.
Looking forward to getting the “running in” out of the way (who knew you still did that!)
I have done a few routes with my VFR forum guys, one I call the “Rutland Wriggle”. . . . . . Should be excellent on my new toy :)
Coming from those bikes, aside from what BMW offers in comparison to the KTM 790, there just couldn't have been a better choice. But did you at any point consider going back to Honda? Heard a lot of great things about the new Africa Twin.

Hi KTMfan
I had been looking at the KTM SMT, 1090, CROSSRUNNER, AFRICA TWIN, the problem for me was all had an increase rather than decrease in weight. Being stuck under my VFR on a goat track (bad navigation!) confirmed to me that I need something lighter & this bike appearing last year answered the weight question, along with a fabulous array of electronic gizmos that were unheard of on a middleweight bike, especially at this price.

I will miss my Honda’s, but from early impressions, this is going to be a riot!!
Welcome..! I'm new too.

Great bike those V-Fer's, always loved 'em. Off-loading my VTR-1000f (aka Superhawk, firestorm?), my 4th one since '98.

Looking forward to this 790 Duke~
