Less than a week after the mess that closed the point gap at the top of the championship almost completely, the circus is moving to Japan. This is the first time since 2019 that MotoGP races in Motegi, so it will be a new experience to most of the younger riders. This fact, as well as the track layout itself are favorable to Yamaha and present an advantage/opportunity for FQ20 to get closer to the top of the pile, again.

Looking forward to an interesting week. We have Thailand, Australia and Sepang following pretty close behind. At least a couple of these locations are tracks where Yamaha should go well. Seems like this championship will be decided closer to the end of the season.

Seems like the weather may play a role in this week's races.

So far, Yamahas are doing well. So are the Ducatis. There does not seem to be a huge gap. Top speeds are 300-310 KPH, not even close to the top speeds in the previous two races. Good thing for the Yamaha squad. FM21 went pretty well. Best that I have seen him go all season. But it is still early.

Extended FP1 was dry. Tomorrow may not prove so lucky.

Following a few wet sessions, including a red flagged FP2 and very rainy Q1, MM93 is on pole!

Tomorrow's race is going to be dry, so we can expect different results, but this is Marc's first Pole after 1071 days. His last pole was also in Motegi, Honda owned track and their testing facility, three years ago.

All three championship leaders are way down the order. Expect a very interesting first few laps tomorrow.

Miller's pace was incredible !
Nothing special from Quartararo and Bagnaia (last lap excepted)
Disaster for Aleix; I can't believe how unlucky he's been so far !
And JZ5 needs to practice launching his bike 24/7 if he wants to make it one day.
