You have one on your 790? If so ,how do you find the extra noise?

ok removing the cat makes a huge difference to the quality and volume of the sound.
I started with an akra then I removed the akra baffle, then I decat

so I found no baffle no cat to be to loud for my taste I loved the music just too loud

I settled with no baffle and refitted the cat

hence I have a decat pipe for sale
What about de-cat with baffle? Still too loud?
Im running De-cat with original pipe and it sounds lurvely. Not too loud but throaty and poppy :)

Any idea how much weight this saved? I am planning to do same.
Thanks

Did you add a booster plug to richen the fuelling ?
Saved a heap of weight but i cant give any figures.

Yes i run a Boosterplug and i had the bike on a dyno both with and without the plug fitted and saw a definite benefit with the plug.

What were the Dyno numbers before and after?
i wouldnt be able to give you correct numbers as my Dyno runs where done with a Austin Racing badged Coober ECU connected.

But the results i got was 99.6HP with Cat.

97.5HP with De-cat

Dyno

As you can see the fueling goes to **** with a decat which the aftermarket ECU is supposed to fix.

My ECU is currently back with Coober in Austria whilst they check it for defects.

I also used a Verex de-cat pipe, standard muffler. Sounds fantastic, not chasing any performance gains as it’s already punchy enough for road use. Highly recommend the Verex
Oh and it’s probably about 2 kg lighter than the catalyst
