Greetings all. I pick up my new 790 from Teasdales in Thirsk in Thursday, hence the crap weather.
Was riding a BMW R1200R for 5 years, but fancied something more aggressive again. I had an Aprilia Tuono a few years ago, and that was a hooligan bike. The Duke has similar characteristics and will be more fun than the BM.

The Duke is going to be very different from both bikes you mentioned. Less power, but significantly lighter with great handling. Much sharper than both the Beemer and the Aprillia.

Welcome and enjoy your new ride. The 790 has a lot going for it. There is still a bit of hooligan in it as well if you want to unleash it. Very hard to beat the handling of the 790.

When I bought my first Laverda Montjuic - I rode it home very carefully. Covered it to keep it all new looking. Following day awoke to a foot of snow. One of the white-est winters on record in Southern Dorset.
