Am new to this forum thing but thought Id give it a try.
Hopefully picking up my new 790 on Monday and looking forward to it.
Not new to KTM though have owned a few and both me and my partner run KTM,s.

KTM Ownership.

Hi LC8,
At the moment the family cosists of a 1290 SuperdukeR,690 Duke,1190Adventure and a 390 Duke.
In the past Ive had a 990SMT, 950SM, 690SMR, RC8 and a 620 Duke.And our lass had a 200 Duke.

They have all been superb in there own way with only a couple of minor problems in all the years Ive owned them.
You could say Im a bit of a KTM fan!!:smile_big:
Hopefully the 790 will be just as good,we shall get our first proper taste Monday,cant wait.

I went orange last year
so my wife and son are riding Duke 125's both as learners
I purchased a 390 to ride with them and loved it so much I swapped my used one for a new 2018 model a few months ago, will pass to my son when he gets to 19.
Wanted to try a big single went for the 690 and did not like it so swapped for a 790 which I love to bits.
wanted a 1290r but went to test ride and as I take pillion riders I compromised and went for the 1290GT still not sure I made the right choice, I do love the R but as far as I am concerned it is not safe for pillion

Always happy to see another loyal KTM owner on the forum. Looking forward to your feedback of the 790 with the level of perspective you have.
Did you at any point consider going for another brand?

Hi mate,good to hear from you.Have had quite a diverse collection of bikes through the years(showing my age now!)
Had mostly KTM,s in the last few years but Ive had an MV and Aprillia V4R Tuono and a few others in between and last got rid of an MT07 that used to be my partners.Good bike the MT07 but had to go to fund the 1190 Adventure,what a fantastic bike that is.
Picked the 790 up yesterday and done about 90mls on it so far and Im loving it.Only real problem is a difficulty getting it into
neutral,but hopefully that will loosen up over time.Our lasses 690 Duke was a bit stiff at first but not as bad as the 790 and my 1290SDR was fine from the start so we will have to see.It would be intersting to know if any other members have had the same problem.

I have had many brands
over recent years Buell lightening, 4 triumphs, until the KTM's got a lot of older triumphs in the garage
regarding 790

ridden 1up 2up fast slow town motorway etc covered 3000 miles so far

Hi mate,did you have any problems getting the 790 into neutral when new.Only 90mls on mine but is very awkward to get into neutral at a standstill.Would be interesting to know if you had the same problem.
