Hi!

So yeah, had mine for a few days now, just a quick Hi and to let you know how I'm getting on.

Already put enough miles on it for its first service next week, and already changed the standard exhaust for the Remus race one. The stock one sounds just great, just wanted a bit more volume for filtering through London, it has a lot more bass and still pops if anyone is interested in getting one.

Finding it really comfortable, I can sit for hours on that wide seat, unlike other bikes I've had. Keeping the throttle in Rain mode in town in slow traffic and I think others are finding it snatchy in everyday situations.

The only issue I have, and again it maybe an urban London problem, is the clutch gets stuck and doesn't fully engage if I hold it in too long at the lights, and it is running hot. It will slip and not fully engage, and then I have to mess around with shifting up and down or re-releasing the clutch to get it back into gear properly. The clutch lever physically gets stuck somewhere towards fully released. Not sure if it is plates warping in heat or the clutch cable, hopefully it will get sorted at first service. I also have a Honda Grom though for heavy traffic and commuting and the 790 is for longer journeys and fun, which I am sure it is going to be great for!

It's such a fun good looking bike, my neighbour said it looks alien. I hope my clutch issue gets resolved, I would be interested if anyone else has similar problems or knows more about mechanics and knows what the problem could be.

Regards
Phil.

Hi Phil
welcome to the group, seems you did some heavy riding to get those 600 miles done in a few days I thought my 8 days was quick
No problems with my clutch even during those super hot days we had and with heavy traffic.

I did have to adjust my cable during the running in period

my opinion would be a cable issue but I am sure your dealer will sort it out
Nice where about in London you based?
I'm SW

What's your security like btw :D beefy I expect.

Serious Pragmasis chainage, got the KTM road lock too, tracker of course, 2 chains I leave attached to lampposts where I park regularly, cover on all the time. I’m SW too!

Welcome to the forum Phil. Are you still having issues with the clutch, or has it gotten better with more wear in?
How's your clutch? I've done some city riding in Valencia (before you say it - I know Valencia is a village in comparison with London). and it does get pretty hot round here in the Summer, but never noticed any clutch foibles.

I'm from Manchester originally, but lived for several years in Windsor, so was wondering where you go to put the miles on?

TTFN.
Hi John,
Sorry for the late reply, just got my bike back from the dealer and been out all weekend on it to check the clutch is fixed, which it definitely is. Turned out to be a blocked oil jet in the clutch, unlikely to be a common problem, just one of those glitches with a new bike I guess. Also but the KTM heated grips fitted, getting a bit nippy over here.

My parents live near Valencia/Murcia, it's a lot more built up and concentrated then London though which is mostly suburbs. It's fine in town now it has cooled down a bit. I love Spain, sometimes rent a bike over there and ride around Murcia, hoping to ride down there next year. Might never come back:p

Just spent the weekend riding out of town down the M4, across to Marlow, Henley, Reading, then over the Chilterns down lots of nice twisty B roads, Wendover, Bucks, right the way over to Luton then back into town on the M1!

Cheers
Phil

Hiya Phil,

That's awesome that your folks live in Southern Spain, (after living there for a year, not a day goes by not thinking about it). Glad you got the issues worked out with your 790! Where do you usually rent motos there?
