Did you opt for it? What does it cover and for how long?

I did yes, total of 5 years.
3 more years for around 250 bucks is a bargain.

Same coverage as KTM provide for the first two from what i could tell.
I wish I could extend it here in the uk. Its only two years. It's 3 years for the rest of europe. Wtf Ktm ?

Unfortunately 2 years in Finland aswell.

Fairly sure KTM has a worldwide 24 month warranty on all their road bikes.
Dirt bikes i think they have something like 30 hours.

Whoa. That's really inexpensive. Sounds fishy, haha. Is is an actual KTM factory warranty (the additional 3 years), or is it some Aftermarket warranty?

Aftermarket warranty called Wisebiker Gold bought directly at the dealer.

US. 1 yr and very limited
2 years in NZ but if there's any significant dispute about "fitness for purpose", the Consumer Guarantees Act statute is there as a fall-back; not that I've ever needed to use it for anything.

To follow up on the original post, I finally, (it seems you cannot connect directly with KTMUSA, you have to leave a message, and they will call you back. Also, there is no physical email to get in touch with anyone @ KTMUSA), got them to call me back.

I asked them pertinent information: Is this a Factory OEM warranty, or an aftermarket provider, (portfolio, as well call it in the industry).

Turns out it's a portfolio, by a company named RPMOne, (they provide extended warr. for various other mfgrs). KTM didn't have any information on the company they hired to back the warranty, such as term, price, or what was covered.
Thought you'd like to know.
From what I remember when I bought mine, it was an aftermarket but it covered more than the factory 1 year warranty. I got a 6 year extended for I think $800. Yea the 3 yr $250 is a nice price....curious as to what it covers since mine covers everything except the normal wear and tear. Mine even fully covers the entire electronics package. Pretty nice.

6 yr for $800 is well worth it, imho. Love to see the specifics.

That's what I thought as well, hence the reason I jumped all over that! It also starts up after the factory is over. I'd have to dig up the paperwork and review it to give you a synopsis.

Greatly appreciated!

When did you buy your 790? I'm in the US and when I bought my mine, it came with 2 year/24,000 mile warranty straight from KTM.

Thats odd. In Europe the warranty is 2 years with unlimited mileage. It says it in the manual.

It's prolly because nearly most all motos here in the USA come with a 1 year/12,000 mile warranty. It's good to see that our KTM's come with a 2 year, (I believe Duc does as well).

If this RPMOne Extended warranty covers the Electronics, (as Chic mentioned), it's worth every bit of the $800- for me.

The only issue is: I don't recall the electronics being covered in said included factory warranty, correct me if I'm wrong.

The Ducati’s have that warranty length as well, you are correct. Also the ktm warranty does not cover electronics but I have yet to hear of someone not get a gremlin fixed under warranty for any ktm street bike.

I didn’t get the extended warranty.

According to my warranty, ANY part on the motorcycle is covered. I know earlier warranties only covered the engine internals and like the swingarm but no electronics. I think this is a relatively recent change in the US warranties.
