Hi to All,

From the USA. Selling my 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 1K this coming weekend so I can buy the new 2019 790 Duke. I hope to have my Duke in 2 to 3 weeks. Until then, I'm going to enjoy reading everyones opinions and reviews of the bike. Hope to see pics of your updated and modified rides as well.

Welcome to the community.
What a change from the Ninja but its definitely part of a trend i'm seeing the more i'm on communities like this one. It probably explains why bikes like the 790 and other ADV related bikes are taking off in interest.
Heck, even new riders are jumping to these instead of entry level sport bikes like the CBR250 and CBR300.

Yes, I think you are right, the naked, street fighter style is definitely in vogue at the moment (LOL). For me, after owning the Ninja 1000, I'm just looking for something lighter and more agile. I was actually looking at the MT-07 and Z650 before the Duke caught my eye. As soon as I saw the Duke and looked into the specs, I knew it was the one. It is lighter then the MT-07 and has close to 40% more power and looks better. (According Dyno charts I have seen, the 790 horsepower is only about 15% less then the Ninja! (95hp/125hp)

BTW: I just bought a new-to-me 2014 KTM 250 XC-W dirt bike about 6 months ago, so I seem to be jumping onto the KTM band-wagon (LOL).
Sorry for my bad math. That should read 24% less HP than the N1K

No problem, we all have as bad if not worse math skills as nobody corrected you:eek:
So they sold the Orange one, I can wait for another orange one but I'm not totally against the black one. Decisions decisions!! LOL...Started my paperwork today. It's raining like crazy so I'm in no hurry to bring it home. Looks like a break in the weather Sunday, so my goal is to pick it up Saturday. BTW: Just ordered a Delkevic slip-on for it. WooHoo!!

I agree on Orange. To me its almost a criminal to get a anything but orange. Beyond that it doesn't look right and comes off as a bike from a different manufacture.
Well, I bought the black one. After looking at pictures of the black Duke with decals kits, and various custom graphics, I decided the black might even look better with the right orange highlights and graphics. Now if it would just warm-up and quit raining.

BTW: I installed the Delkevic slip-on and have already ordered a boat load of parts and accessories for it. Ergo seat, Pillion seat cover, bar end mirrors, some orange wrap and that's just the beginning I'm sure. LOL
At one point i was hoping KTM would start offering green but it turns out that not only does Kawasaki uses it but they're known for green!
