Dyno results and thoughts

So far I have only seen three sets of dyno results for the 790
I have combined them for comparison
if one ignores the absolute measurement and looks at the HP shape

one can see the red and yellow follow a very similar shape
however the orange shows both lower power at bottom and higher power at the top
one can see gains buy all aftermarket mods
airbox, ecu, exhaust etc.

i look to their website, coober is from Austria and somehow related to KTM.
They have now Wings exhaust available with their ecu.

So tango1 are you going to give the coober kit a go?

have no idea, need to test it.
so has anyone fitted a coober kit yet?
if they have views?
how about Austin Racing ATOM kit any takers?
Yes, have fitted the complete AR system and ATOM......posted at the beginning of August in the headers and pipes thread I think....🤔

Sorry must have missed your earlier post
so apart from the significantly louder note
does it feel different?
did the economy change?
I have updated the dyno graph
We can see the Coober graphs show lower power and torque than others
But if we look at Coober’s new map figures we can see reasonable gains across most of the rev range with the best torque gains between 6000-8000RPM
As the Coober and Austin racing are the same unit with different maps in, even if we ignore the absolute power measurement and look at the curves we see that Austin appears to show a great gain in the mid band, this is probably that they matched the ECU to their exhaust
So it would seem that the full Austin Racing /ATOM system will give you a few extra BHP in the 4000-9000RPM over the Coober with non AR exhaust

What i would love to see are some independent dyno graphs for verification, anyone out there got some that they do not mind sharing?

The complete kit works well and is a lot smoother and tractable, you can ride in sport mode at low rpm (a lot of comments about low end fuelling, especially in sport mode, me too) without any fuelling or snatching throttle response....
I didn’t change it for fuel economy, although my assumption would be that it would be better, because they’ve mapped out all the niggles, and so it’s actually easier to ride, but with the standard bike being pretty good, it’s not something worth worrying about....😁
The noise seems to be an issue for some, but the set is provided with 2 baffles sets, and I’ve just been tweaking the baffles myself to reduce the low end rpm sound for town riding without restricting the flow too much....
yeah always a balance on the noise front shame bikes do not have a dump valve as fitted on big "old" American cars

Hi Tango1,Wings can looks superb.Had Wings on my old 950SM,excellent kit and a bit cheaper than the ever present Akrapovic. Will be interesting to see what they sell for and the effects with standard fueling settings and if they give any power and torque increase.
Ride Safe.

Spoke with Wings company owner today, for 790 Exhaust they have it only with an additional computer. They found out that, the original computer system is leaning out the engine with different can mounted on the engine.
Very honest from them to focus on customer first, instead of just selling stuff.

So are they going to use the coober/ATOM unit or some other unit?
I am still waiting for power commander but not sure how much longer i am going to wait

yes it will be coober computer.
dealer who use cober on the demo 790 bike told me that they are somehow related to ktm. look like a ktm found a way around to protect engines against wrong exhaust design. make sense then power commander with original signal modifications can be seen on ktm diagnostics.
just seen on cober website they have release the exhaust for 790 in collaboration with wings.

Going to give them a call today, to get more info.
