On the way to/from Laguna Seca, I carried an extra jacket for riding around town since we were traveling in full leathers. At one point on the way home, the cargo net holding the jacket on my tail bag shifted, placing the shoulder of my Alpinestars jacket in the path of the hot exhaust gasses. How hot? Hot enough to melt the armor inside the jacket. It also melted some of the stitching in the jacket’s shoulder. Huge bummer. I’m looking in to getting it repaired.
