Ayup. Was on holiday in Spain a month ago and mate who was daft enough to invite me and wifey along (well he does ride a GS1200) had a bike mag with a review of the 790. He had been bleating on for some months that it was a great next bike for me. We have booked to go to Spain next year so I needed a bike now obviously...
Landed at Birmingham airport and drove 4 miles to dmc Moto at Birmingham to have a look at one. Long story short bought a brand new one £7500 free first service inc. I wasn't in a rush for the bike so after two weeks they offered to deliver free to Gloucestershire one and a half hours away. There was a brand warning light issue when doing the PDI and so the delivery date went back a couple of times so they offered £250 worth if Powerparts, transpires they have given me more. Very helpful guys and a great dealer.

Only done 47miles so far but what a great bike. Has a gear indicator issue that they will fix at first service and yes the track mode us awful at low speed.

Al my other bikes are classics and race bikes so this thing will be great fun on the right roads. Cheers.

welcome to the forum and 790 ownership
you have chosen wisely

as the mode selection do not change the power just the throttle response I just leave mine as street its a lot easier round town.
so what mods and pp are you considering?

Yes it's great. I am only buying front and rear mudguard extenders and have got some orange bling bits, sticker kit and tinted flyscreen. Might put a can on it as original sounds good but looks naff. Otherwise everything is perfect for me & don't need any more performance. It's so quick, torquey and precise it's unbelievable.

graphics kit looks particularly good on black bikes again I have fitted
flyscreen still waiting for pp one
I agree original can sound ok but is poor in looks the Akro looks better and if you remove baffle sounds good too

So your happy with mirrors?

I like the mirrors! Not spinning and rubber condoms probably easier to clean than flies welded to just paint.

I found the rear view poor and they vibrated at speed

I have very similar mirrors on my 390 but they work and do not vibrate as much

if there good for you, they will save yourself a fortune in pp bar ends
