Does Austin Racing not have some cheaper slip on de-cat systems for the 790? Sure they are on the more expensive side of the spectrum, but you just cant argue with the sound clips up on YouTube. Even get to choose the shape and color of the tips.

Yes they have a single slip on pipe for around $1200 delivered to NZ. But those twin pipes look awesome. For around $1500 i could get an Arrow full twin system delivered with free postage. At this stage I'm thinking of heading down the way of Arrow Titanium slip on or the EXIL . Id like to get rid of the CAT, but in reality the bike runs nice with it left on.

Yeah. It is a shame the AR system is so expensive. It was my first choice but I couldn't justify the extra coin.
I am very happy with the IXIL M2. The sound (with the cat) is superb and they are a nice compact can.
Just under $700NZ deivered. Much cheaper if you don't get stung with GST and Customs duty.

TBH, I have the full titanium decat RS22 (dual can) system with the ATOM too, and yes it definitely is expensive but I don't regret it at all and it in my opinion sounds much better than the other systems out there at the moment such as Arrow, Ixil, Leo Vince etc.

Can you post/link some fotos of your moto? Also, what mapping changes did you do with the Decat? Thanks.

Ive just ordered the same muffle as yours KiwiD. the IXIL M2, $745. Delivery was bloody expensive $144...Thieves i tell ya. After much deliberation, this was possibly the least expensive option that looks bloody good on the bike. I think the CAT is going to have to stay permanently now, i really wanted to go down the full system route, but the cost out weighed divorce.

Nice one Dave! Where is it being delivered from? They certainly know how to charge! I mostly use YouShop from the US and occasionally the UK. My little Ermax screen cost NZ$112 in freight costs from France. Do you need a Power Commander to set it up?

The exhaust is coming from Britain, I'm keeping the CAT so no need for a PC Geoff, i would have loved to get rid of the CAT, but re-tuning etc, so I'm going to leave it on.

Good call. I love mine. Fantastic sound and I like the minimal look. Someone commented that it reminded them of the old Supertrap mufflers:grin:
I think removing the cat with this can would be too loud anyway.
I have pretty much got my bike where I want it now. Will post some photos soon.

Totally agree. I've been running my Ixil M2 for a couple of months now, and love the look and sound (dB killer in.) I think it's one of the best value slip-ons available for the 790. Very well finished.
I aimed high with the Austin racing system, showed pics to the wife, even lied about how much it would cost:wink:.....Tried for a week or 2 with no success, then showed her a pic of the Ixil M2, at less than half the cost of the Austin, it was always going to be a winner...............winners are grinners, ill be grinning with my little win once I've fitted it, should be here middle of next week.:grin::grin:

Hope she doesn't read your post Dave! Wives have a habit of extracting payback and often, you won't even know about it (or until much later). Don't ask me how I know :plain:

Na mate, she's to busy on face book, I'm safe.............PS... wheres the multi delete button? asking for a friend:wink:
 That's pretty funny Dave. Luckily my girl rides too, and we have our own budgies for Moto upgrades.

I'm still torn between a few exhausts.

To be straight, I'm trying to decide which ECU mod to go with, and whether I want to DeCat or not, so the exhaust plays a big part in that.

Also, it's tuff to distinguish exactly how freakin' loud one is over the other, as I don't want to make any waves with my local highway patrol this summer, or receive ghastly stares from my neighbors, (grin).

I think any of the stubby pipes will be very loud Kelevra with a de-cat pipe system, possibly the best system for sound volume and HP gains will be the Acra full system ($$:surprise:) But these stubby pipes look cool, and I'm sure will sound great with the CAT still on. Kiwiduke's bike with the IXIL sounded nice and deep, where as the REMUS have a more higher pitch sound (i have a REMUS on my 1290) I really wanted to go down the de-cat route with a mapping option, but the cost really was prohibitive, and the 790 will sound great with the IXIL, and if i wanted more power, id just ride the 1290. For me the 790 needs to sound good, but still keep that nice fueling in Street mode-for around town, Sport mode for back roads and highway.
