I'm thinking I'd like a warning when a nail or screw, e.t.c. punctured my tire as its been invaluable on other bikes for me. Any recommendations on a TPMS that you guys are using and feel will promptly notify or display pressure changes allowing rider to pull over, plug, and inflate tire. I have concerns that the valve stem screw on devices that attach without breaking bread on tire may not be as accurate. But I hope some of you would have a different opinion or experience as this option may be cheaper. Regards.

Tellem-

I will be adding the KTM TPMS on my first full (front back) tire change. I have had the Garmin setup (need compatible GPS device) on a previous bike (a 2006 Goldwing) and really liked it. I know there are also dedicated TPMS setups available but I am going to give the KTM one a shot.

If I were going to install TPMS onto a 790Duke - And I have considered the idea as a "maybe" when it comes time to change tyres. Then I'd fit the KTM version as it all then integrates. No extra little dashes etc.

ok, I didn't realize the 790 would display the tire pressure values and low pressure is possiblealarmwarning on the TFT. IS that what your're saying.? Is it just a software unlock, TPMS install, then programming to learn the TPMS, and then on your way. Or do you need an intermediary device, like "AZMtotorgod" posted above concerning the Garmin?

It integrates fully into the display - you can read about it in the 790 owner's manual:
  • Page 66 - set the units (PSI / Bar)
  • Page 71 - configure warnings (too high, too low, on, off)

Hey guys,
I've just received the KTM TPMS:

Had a couple questions:
How does the receiver install? Where does it go, what does it plug in to?
Does the dealer need to activate this in software as they do with cruise control, etc.?
Thanks,
-John

Awesome. Thank you. I looked all over for that.
So I assume:
"- Program tire pressure sensor with the KTM diagnostics tool."
means the dealer has to do it.
Wonder what they'll charge for that...

It's done in a few steps
1) Install the physical module and sensors
2) Program the sensor IDs into the module
3) Run through the calibration procedures and thresholds
4) Enable the TPMS feature in the dash

We're you able to activate and program in on dash menu or required dealer to do with ktm tool

Ooooooh now that's useful. Mate we are going to need to have a chat one day - Texa is the tool my mate with the Guzzi Shop has!. I kbnow because I had to update it on Thursday.
What else can it do? - for example should one perchance find themselves in possession of an 890ADV and wish to activate everything! - or even a 790ADV?
It's a little hard to tell without having the bike connected. Also, some of the features might not work if he has the latest version (34.1.1) as I had to work with Texa to get past errors, I assume they will apply the fixes in the next release.

On the 790 you can enable the Track Pack in the dash for example....something the dealers often forget when replacing the dash as I found out lol.

You can program the quickshifter and gear sensor but I am waiting for the complete instructions. I know it works as I went through the process with them remotely.

You're supposed to be able to replace components like the dash etc and transfer the setting for VIN and mileage. It can even do bike software updates for some brands but not KTM unfortunately.

Back to TPMS. Anyone know if the low air pressure setting is adjustable by dealer and what is the default low pressure lbs value warning for front and rear
