Oh yes i just noticed its a twin sided swing arm, jeeeeeeeze its been years since i road on this antiquated system. (ps my 640 SMR was a pain in the ass to refit rear wheel) single sided arms rule.
Sounds like you just need to be a bit more committed to the change, don’t pussyfoot it just engage it positively, works extremely well I find. The quickshifter seems to be a lot more complicated than I expected. It seems to be a two step process. The first gentle push activates the throttle blip / throttle kill, then pushing further causes the gear change. The correct timing of the two to get a smooth shift varies quite a lot depending on throttle setting and RPM.
Just got a 790 so checking out this thread, and wanted to ask if you could post a pic of where you out the tape. And does that effect the auto on headlights? I don't really ride at night so I guess it doesn't matter, but I am curious. Thank you.I've put a small piece of black tape over the light sensor to stop the TFT display continuously changing, prefer it in night mode.
It felt better in every department for me, I’ll be putting my 790 back to stock and look to change to the 890.Suspension or motor... Or both?
I'm planning a suspension upgrade to the 790 and would love to hear more about what you think before I drop a bunch of coin.
