Attempt at some more weight loss - 890R

Built up my Dymag UPX7's today. Used Galfer Wave disks all around and a SuperSprox dual material rear sprocket which actually added a little weight back over the all aluminum sprocket that came with the Dymag rear. S22 tires mounted and balanced.

I'll swap them out soon and post weights of the stock setup. Want to give myself some extra time because I'm also swapping out the front pads for the EPFA pads.

I'll take a few pics. I've got mixed feelings about the orange wheels. I went back and forth a few times on if I wanted the satin black or the orange. For my Zero SR/F I used the satin black and I love them. Very easy to clean and keep clean and always look great no matter how much grime they accumulate.

There’s a lot of s22 love here so I’m giving them a shot. I’m fairly certain the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3‘s that I have on the Zero are lighter by a good amount but they wear too much like track tires.

I installed S22s as soon as the Power Cup 2s were toasted. I didn't have to wait too long !
Even if the Duke is already light and agile, these wheels will make a difference. I could feel it instantly when I installed forged Marchesini's on my HD xr1220x (all tuned up) ;)

So the S22's are probably a bit heavier than I had thought. I should have weighed them. The Cup 2's were worn but not enough where's it should have been a big difference. In any case, lots of upside; reduced unsprung weight, looks way better and much better quality wheels than cast.

Here's how it turned out:
Rear Wheel Stock: 31.64 lbs
Rear Wheel Built: 30.64 lbs
difference -1 lbs

Front Wheel Stock: 25.36 lbs
Front Wheel Built: 23.82 lbs
difference -1.54 lbs

Total 2.54 lbs

Based on how this went I never had the Cup2's off the wheels to weigh them, so I never thought to weigh the S22's for a comparion.

I do my own tires as well but it won't be until the next changout where I'll have an opportunity to get the differences in a meaningful way. I was planning on leaving the orange wheels completely built in case I decide to sell them on, I can sell them as a complete package. Tires still have some life on them so they're worth a little bit.

@camoto I'm looking at doing the same upgrade eventually - Dymags, Wave rotors, and the Stealth sprocket. Looking at the SuperSprox site, there seem to be about a billion different part numbers - do you happen to have the part number for the specific sprocket you ordered?

Yeah there's no "part number" for that sprocket completed - you have to build it using "Aftermarket wheels, Dymag, 520 chain". Then for the Dymags you use the following dimensions (verify this with Dymag, as their design could have changed since I bought mine)
Number of bolts : 6
Inner Bore Diameter [mm] : 120.269
Bolt Hole Diameter [mm] : 10.3
Pitch Circle Diameter [mm] : 140
Bolt hole Shape : CounterSink

I went with the Antigravity. I have had countless Shorais and have had great luck with them but wanted to try something different. The only thing I don't like about it, is that it's missing a balance charge port but honestly I only had to balance charge one Shorai and after that they were all flawless and now the balance charger just collects dust.

I'm not a huge fan of the S22's. Handling they are fine but I feel like they're a little on the heavy side. I really like the Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 and the V4 just came out so by the time I'm ready for another set I'm hoping I can get them.

Yes, I believe the same Dymags are used on the RC8C - they look like the UPX7's to me.
