Arrived today but they sent me the touring one not the small tinted one I ordered. All that only took 4 months...

Have now ordered the Ermax sport screen direct from their overseas sales group Speedmax. They removed the French state tax and including shipping, it came to NZ$265. (US$179, AU$255, GBP136). That's the downside of living at the bottom of the world but I wanted it, so prepared to pay the high freight for a little bit of plastic!

Took a nice route home with the bike in Sport mode.... when you're giving it some, sport is deffo better, of that there's no doubt. When you get to stuff where you need slower speeds and more throttle input the Street is miles nicer... Tricky one as half the route is pinned, half the route you're taking it easy as it's dirty gravelly rubbish everywhere.
But you can really feel a difference in the power delivery when you start giving it some :)

Screen arrived... I can't exactly say it was a joy to fit, but it was far from difficult.

Bars off first, then the risers off, then you fit the screen braces under the risers and between them and the yokes.

This is the part i don't really like... it seems to me as though the standard risers fit into slots on the yokes to align them fully but i'm not convinced that once you fit the braces that actually happens any more, so then you're (well, me) questioning if they're aligned exactly straight when you tighten the bolts to secure the risers.

You do have to torque them and the bar bolts up, so i'm guessing if you've got any alignment incorrect you'd know about it.

It's simply a question then of re-fitting the bars (which of course you marked in advance for position) and then sorting out the screen.

I'll take it out tomorrow lunchtime hopefully and give an opinion on it.

Nice Screen! Interesting how the mountings by screen manufacturers are so different. The Ermax Sport screen has 3 screws as per the attached photo which takes about 5 minutes to mount up. Then comes the problem! The 4 rubber bushes which the screen rests against have a threaded insert in the end. The mounting screws pull into this thread, causing the rubber to bunch up and hold fast in the mounting brackets.

Unfortunately, the rubber mounts are a tiny bit too long to allow the screws to engage in the thread without more force than I was comfortable with applying. What I did was to thin the head of the rubber mounts with a craft knife, taking about 1mm off them. This was just enough to engage the thread.

A pity that minor difficulties stuff up otherwise good products.

It's actually really bothering me. To get it tightened to 45nm I can't see any way to do it without the risers moving very very slightly. The question is, how accurate does it need to be? Pretty close, very very close or completly and utterly exact. If the latter, then I'm struggling to work out how to manage it and torque it close enough.

Can you line one up perfectly and torque it up. Then with trial and error, on the other you should be able to start if off at a slight angle until it straightens slightly when tightened. If that makes sense:grin:
I do think you are overthinking it mate. Had years messing around with off road bikes and and always lined the bar mounts up by eye with no ill effects.
I used to run x-trig phds mounts which even let the bars move around slightly in the mounts.:surprise:

I know this is too late ror you, but for anyone else that is looking at mounting this screen.......
Try to make an alignment tool perhaps out of correct handlebar size tubing?
Would be interesting to know if this works. I have my eyes on one of these for later as it looks like a screen that won’t
throw the headlight glare back at you?🙏🏽

I have the same screen - the taller KTM one.

I honestly don't even notice it looks wise anymore - it's just there and part of the bike - I like it!

It definitely makes a huge difference to the wind blast for me - the wind is just smooth to my helmet but nothing much lower.

At night though I definitely notice the "headlight shine" on the inside. I am considering either wrapping it in some kind of tape or spraying the inside matt black (it's not as if I look through it). I've even thought of maybe fitting some black foam between the screen and the back of the display.

I think the fact that it is not tinted actually helps it not detract too much from the looks of the bike. Please can you let us know how it works aerodynamically and if there’s any reflection issues with the headlight on at night?
Thanks.

Reflection issues - That is a 100% guaranty - you don't need to ride at night to see it. But I do not really intend to use it much at night. And I would want ADAPTIVE lights for serious night work.

Does it keep the wind at bay? - Hmm - Yes but not a whole lot. I think though it's one of things you'll only notice when it's not there. Adaptive Lighting is another.
