Hacks: Day/Night mode

I've put a small piece of black tape over the light sensor to stop the TFT display continuously changing, prefer it in night mode.

LOL. Excellent "How To" post!

We should open a "Hacks" section!

Im always surprised how many people seems to complaint about the TFT display changing too often, either mine doesnt do that or I dont spend that much time looking at the dash like some people lol. :P

Watching the reviews on the 790 before I bought the bike had me thinking the day/night switching would be more of a problem than it turned out to be. Maybe they made it better through an update? Mine will change unnecessarily in shadows sometimes but it'll jump back to day mode quickly.

Also to note, the DRL in the headlight will not come on if the light sensor is covered.

Monkey nuts, I've not been able to locate the light sensor. The owners manual talks about it but doesn't show where it is. Help! 🙄

It's at the top of the TFT display. If you look closely, you'll see it.
