Oil Leak at Countershaft Seal

At 600 mi My 790 sprang a small leak at countershaft seal. Dealer replaced the seal at first service. After 30 mi the replacement seal is leaking and is back at the dealer. Dealer has ordered another seal with 'spacer'. Does this sound familiar to anyone? and how is this resolved?

Common problem, mine started with a lhs sump weep which went away after about 10,000 kms.
At the same time a counter shaft leak developed - but really it is only a minor weep and is less than the grease thrown off the chain so I haven't worried about changing the seal, will probably stop eventually - not a big deal.
Definitely not a chain tension problem. Leaking countershaft seal also affects the 790 Adventure bike.

Really. I was under the impression that an initially over-tightened chain, exacerbated the problem with the leaking counter-shaft seal..?
Chic and EvansB2 like this.

Where is the countershaft seal? Is that what the front sprocket connects to?
