Wink smoother running+performance??

I have seen power commander fitted to a few test bikes but it is not available to general market
again I have seen products from Austin Racing and a unit from Cooober in Germany.
there is also the booster plug fuel enriching adapter.
again feedback would be great

my only experience so far has been the booster plug +K&N filter

Im using a Boosterplug on my 790 and also my Tiger 800 XCx and im happy with it.

I also considered this RapidBike Easy Rapidbike Easy | DIMSPORT - ENGINE CALIBRATION SPECIALISTS but decided the Boosterplug is just so easy to use i stuck with that.

Today i removed my Boosterplug and took the bike for its first service. That Boosterplug definitely smooths out the snatchy throttle response at low revs in a very noticeable way.

I have found my bike to still be slightly snatchy after fitting booster plug think its just as this bike has virtually no crank mass

From what I've been reading there's a firmware update 0.17 -> 0.20 that may improve lower fuelling

Just read this blog about the firmware update.

https://www.marcmachtblau.de/2018/07...-ktm-790-duke/

It is in German, but if you open in Google Chrome, it will sort of translate. (If anyone here can read German and confirm the translation it would be appreciated). But I think it indicates the rider felt smoother performance at lower rev range (improved fuelling )?

Sounds very promising, I shall ask my dealer if v2 has reached Australia yet.

Thanks, Zank

Not sure what country you are from but I just had my 1st service and 0.17 is definitely the latest Australian firmware.

I've done 1300 kms and the snatchy operation definitely gets better with more kms, the 790 has low crank mass and a very tight engine when new.

Unfortunately when a bike is new and has an irritating problem you can really focus on it, now that the booster plug is fitted you should just ride it and forget about any "slight" snatchiness and just enjoy the bike.

I'm in UK, no sign of it at my dealer yet either, but as per the link above definitely out in the wild, probably being rolled out in smaller batches across EU first.
